this most recent whirlwind tour, where i airplaned in, attempted to torture all my local loved ones for a few days, threw up an exhibition and airplaned away went so yes. idk, i had fun.this show went down like a drowning child (frantic/glorious), an opening for personal closure, and the scene was taser. 33 new/recent pieces, 2 books. the “there is a wrong time for everything.” show will remain on exhibition at the fell building til the end o’ may.even the reading here (above), with introduction by no other than winterman hisself, felt damn on!gr*8 times flocking bloomington, indiana w/ ms. j. shelley harrison the day before. though i was only able to experience a few hrs of this 13 mile ARThritIS mini-marathon as (knee shy), which began at W. That Rd. (srsly)….it was terrif! look up/look down.
giant thanks to everyone who outed it to make this all work: crab jackson, the winterpeople, j. shelley harrison, hien + fam, wwClaytor, terri fresh (from: gross air–coming all the way down from her space kraft somewhere over chi-ca-go!!), lunch skirt, everyone at the fell gallery, everyone who came out, hung out, old besties and new pals.
Gearing up for an upcoming whirlwind run through the middle-west!
Dialed in this drone strike of new and recent works at the Fell Building… Bloomington, IN… and/or however far the casualty radius expands. Along w/ this action, fellow traveling artist/collaborator j. shelley harrison and i (kneeshy) will be taking the day before to explore/expand new work involving “flocking” and the open-ended, open-entry band Arthritis, in very off-site ways… details forthcoming.
THERE’S A WRONG TIME FOR EVERYTHING
an exhibition by jeremy kennedy
with reading by the artist, introduction by artist j. shelley harrison.
Compiled from four distinct, intertwining series, There’s a Wrong Time For Everything selects 33 pieces of new and recent works completed on paper.
Neon migraines. Masculine vulnerability. The feminine stance. From text-heavy, paint-starved one-liners to paragraph-laden collage, these works exemplify Kennedy’s knack for wry interpretation and genius misunderstandings.
Some years’ worth of careful, cynical, inward, outward, behavioral observations have been slammed up against the artists’ lexicon of humor and absurdity to create his favorite version of the world: where sorority girls and ex-princesses do Rule.
The artists’ heroines, like his jargon, are ruthless. Kennedy’s heroines have not simply been mused upon—-they command his existential dread. With their bratty stares and sassed hips, they also seem to destroy him. Yet there’s something in their stance that the artist trusts, and he allows himself to be held amongst the pain-waves of failed life formulas, invented personalities, love and lack, anxiety.
In the rare image, both text and heroine have disappeared. The thought is finished.
In addition to the collection, two books will be on hand. Anti-Fantasy, an extremely limited edition set of bound giclee prints featuring selected material from the show, as well as There’s a Wrong Time for Everything, an extension of the presented works built with the written word and found imagery.
A short reading by the artist from There’s a Wrong Time for Everything will occur at the opening.

P.S.- Also, i’m on vacay, right?! (LOL).
let’s spring. after several months of studio affairs, superficiality, 2 batches of totally terrific chili, and spree of live-li-ness, our casualty radius keeps increasing…
updated- the usual paintings, photos, etc.
updates- airplane ticket —-> the middle-west, with this in tow:
rebel hands press has been absolutely live with these actions:
plus plus carrying on a taser dialogue w/ j. brennan. so much good, sneak peek…
any extra sooooooo?
yeah here, w/ special ghosts like terry fresh from gross air, and yosuke sharing some taser island sounds + beyond.
continuing the levity w/ cuisine suggestions the goatmother. srsly, almost there. keep yr. teeth.
write, sew it seams that i totally skipped a season here. not surprising, as i’ve missed every season of every tv show that everyone has mentioned for the past 5 or so years, or maybe it’s a socal thing, as every day feels pretty much like the one before, and then, #elnino.
in more taser news, things are going swimmingly! my hair has been looking fab recently and there’s plenty of new work in the usual areas. like painting and photos and stuff.
+ still working / building w/ j. shelley jazz panther on our b.r.a.t. installation. ++ building blocks for some coollage curation in portland early next yr. +++, i believe it’s official that i’m bringing a collection of recent works titled “there’s a wrong time for everything” to the middle west this spring, with book and reading in tow.
and hiding right around the corner:
-“lil help?” – a sculptural schooling on subject ‘food’ w/ mark rice (who’s online shop spot is something you should probably better go check out: http://goatmother.storenvy.com/)
-hot fax-tion w/ mr. moerchen. jeffinitely gonna be taser.
-“street terms” – w/ e. + lunch skirt, about to go to press…
speaking of, the lunch skirt + the me will be back on the air til sometime next year w/ more “sooooooo…” via kchung radio.
more aural – de-dusting some quipment for a few upcoming sound making throw downs, looking fwd!
oh! the sale thing. well since most everything already more than reasonably priced, it’s less like a lie and more of a reminder.
btw’s- after a full recharge period, i’m back to spelling it out at http://taserfactory.blogspot.com/ more so frequently.
every time, every day, happy days in the life / happy scarf- jk.
Missed the usual solstice update sched by a mile this time round, guess i was too busy worshipping the sun, lying on farm carpet, working on my “Chardonnay Laugh” and…yeah…fucking busy.
Alas….This site continues to deteriorate as my mac book gently weeps. So, i’m jus gonna keep adding stuff and things (new stuff and things as well as a few archive digs), in all the (un)usual sections + “available for purchase” zone.
Then there are the books… Guan Rong’s “Spanish Silver Fox” has just been sent to press (L.A. RELEASE PARTY TBA)! Also, in golden edit mode with Ms. E. Morgan, Ms. Lunch Skirt, whilst the Goatmother and I are bringing things to a boil in the kitchen w/ our upcoming food book, and Mr. Moerchen and I are still having fun faxing each other. In the interim this bit of fun happened: http://www.rebelhandspress.com/post/121799550084/sea-hunt-season-2-episode-10
Give it a check at Rebel Hands Press.
Into the onward!—-> Been over a year since I’ve had a proper show, so that’s gotta change. Solo styles, collab styles, + working several sharp angles with Blue Cut Dynamite (a.k.a.- J. Shelley Harrison). I rarely travel without some ulterior motive (art, noise-making, etc.), and have designs on the Northwest, the Bay-Bay, the NY, the Middlewest… sooner than later! we’ll see.
Know I’m forgetting like a ton of shit, but it’s martini time + I wanna go swimming. If you like to swim, you should go swimming too.
Do what you want to do. Don’t do what you don’t want to do.
The cold thing, the clock thing, and now the spring thing…
On the verge of some super-serious site adjustments. Hopefully.
In the meantime, even if it’s broken, don’t fix it… just put some avocado on it… in the form of new action fromth Table Blue Studio.
Original works, giclee prints, photos, “other”.
“Hot and Ready”, like all the Little Caesars boxes that litter my neighborhood.
So many collabs!!! New sounds, exploring the culinary realm w/ the Industrials at Goatmother, B+W photo weirdness, posting up w/ Crab Jackson, water-jet cutting w/ Ms. J. Shelley Harrison, woodblock printing, finding new and excitingly complicated methods of coast-to-coast collab w/ Mr. Moerchen, absurdist how-to videos, decoder rings, hmm…what else…
Rebel Hands Press is super active, and we’re apparently “jazzed” about it… look for us this summer.
A pile of new sculpture materials just screaming at me from the other room,… things are srsly closing in.
Get vernal, and may Chewbacca be with you.
But first, the summer(y)… Things got a lil’ garbage claw for a bit. Some things got srsly derailed. Sooooo…the last 1/2 of summer was decidedly tired date. Still managed to sprinkle up some work, woks, lotsa soup and salad, sound-making, seeing, sawing, scoring, shooting, screening, and so on and such. Alotta which can be seen here because seasonal site updates. More to come soon!
Aside from finishing off some of that noise, there is plenty on the platter… some 3-D, some 3-dimensionals, funny foods, piano preparations, uhm…books, a big archiving project (as soon as i acquire a new scanner), more collab action, and some other things will happen too.
Big hugs and thanks to everyone who put things together, and helped on some huge wins!
I hope it rains this year.
That’s right! For anyone who missed, or wanted to get another view of some work from our 2 day Feral Dynamics installation with Audim Culver and Ivy Siosi at the Church space, the ex-pats (Elaina and I) are now owling out at Bloomington’s top spot for rad meals…The Owlery!
Up now… til whenever they tear it down!
Big, Huge thanks to Leah, Ryan, and the whole Owlery team for making it possible!
(above photo by: jeremy hogan)
+ and also, sitewide updates on here at table-blue.com ….including photos from Feral Dynamics and some action from the archive!
summer thoughts are go! swim meetings, outdoor builds, bad-ass boston collabs, crab jackson actions, paypal, art challenged cookbook cooking, airplanes, middle east word trades, rong ways, animations, soundtrack soundings, and…the list continues down a taser lined road.
spring was like “that”, and the sights are now squarely set for this:
The Church Collective | 103 N. Adams St. | Bloomington, Indiana
June 6 – 8, 2014
Opening Reception: Friday June 6, 7pm – 11pm
dialed in with drone-like accuracy, this is what we’ve been working towards…more words from the Fort:
FERAL DYNAMICS presents a designed art environment, a lofted fort in the Indiana hills filled with animal investigations and modern obliterations, informed by a line of thought stretching from coast to coast. Many months of e- and tactile trades culminate in a weeklong terrestrial convergence at base camp, where works hang, stretch, and sprawl from floor to ceiling and beyond, the result of 3 overlapping layers of collaborative and solo research, external and internal.
The work of Siosi Design + Build is a study of humanity’s history of primary provisions; primitive weaponry, shelter, and art. The dynamic duo of Audim Culver and Ivy Siosi explore the course of “need and create” through bespoke tools, concentric neons, and incongruous hunting tactics.
The work of Bloomington expat Elaina Morgan takes its cues from the concurrent majesty and mess of her surroundings, chasing freedom in empire’s runoff. Brainscramble and heartache, ritualism and rhythm. perpetual restlessness and flag-waving resistance find form in symbols, crude construction, gut-scrawl, and mixed media pile-ons.
The work of fellow Bloomington expat Jeremy Kennedy peels back layers of paint and pages to reveal core concepts. Ideas and thoughts, complex and basic, float on waves of observations taken internally, and reinterpreted (often humorously) in a series of nearly universal one-liners.
The bows bend and arrows strike screens, splattering hyper-distracted imagery and bent verbiage over recent builds of many shapes and makes. Seeking refuge and skewing the sinister, these wily creatures cheat left, shoot straight, and return to the dirt of their wild roots.
